For millions of people throughout Africa, Asia and Latin America, getting clean water is a daily struggle.  In fact, more than 80% of all sickness in the world is attributed to unsafe water.  Nearly 1 billion people are without access to improved water sources and every 8 seconds, a child dies because of this crisis.  But we can change that.  Rotary Clubs everywhere are rallying together to provide clean water and sanitation to literally save lives!

Clubs throughout District 5100 are leading and participating in water projects around the world. These days we often join hands to do them more efficiently, and get more bang for each buck – two or more clubs, or clubs working with nonprofit organizations.

There are many ways club are involved in water projects. Some examples include:

  • WAPIs (Water Pasteurization Indicators)
  • Rainwater Capture Systems
  • Water Purification Systems
  • Well Installation
  • Irrigation Projects
